Recognition has been a fundamental part of Scouting since its beginning. When done well, it becomes a powerful tool to help leaders set goals, define accomplishments, encourage skill development, celebrate commitment and achievement, and inspire others to strive for similar success.
At Troop 98, we proudly reinforce and expand upon the formal recognition provided by Scouting America's advancement and awards programs. In addition, we offer unique awards and honors that reflect the spirit and traditions of our troop.
Troop 98 loves to camp! We head out at least once a month, and during the summer, we travel to Goshen Scout Reservation and a High Adventure Base selected by our Patrol Leaders’ Council (PLC).
To celebrate our Scouts’ dedication and adventurous spirit, we created the Troop 98 Camping Nights and Frosty Woggles program. This special recognition honors the hard work, resilience, and enthusiasm our Scouts bring to every outing.

As a Scout-led troop, our youth leaders make a meaningful commitment to guide their fellow Scouts and grow as individuals. Leadership is not always easy—but it is always rewarding.
Our adult leaders also play a vital role, offering support, mentorship, and encouragement to help our youth leaders succeed. Both youth and adult leadership require dedication, skill, and plenty of Scout Spirit.
To honor those who go above and beyond, Troop 98 recognizes outstanding youth and adult leaders through two special awards, the Mr. Jamie Scout Spirit Award and Mr. Bryan Adult Leader Award leadership awards.
